DTE Energy works hard to provide customers with reliable electric service; however, power outages can sometimes occur as a result of inclement weather. WE DTE is beginning to feel the chill, which in Michigan signals the start of the winter storm season. It is inevitable that some of our 2.2 million electric customers will lose power this winter. When it happens, those are the times that DTE employees do their most daring work in an effort to restore electric service quickly to customers.
You can help us keep them safe. WE DTE knows that some people fend off the impact of Mother Nature by utilizing a portable generator for portions of their electrical needs during a power outage. If you have a portable generator that you use as a temporary power source, make sure it is installed and operated properly. When not used correctly, it can pose a real threat – to you, our customers, as well as DTE linemen. To learn more generator safety, visit http://ow.ly/eAhVp.
